Universities need a long term strategic vision and plan. To that end, universities will prepare and implement Strategic Institutional Development Plans (SIDPs) aimed at progressively increasing the quality and relevance of their degree programs, research outputs and community services, and utilizing feedback from external and internal quality assurance reviews. The SIDPs will have to be consistent with the NHESP-II and present a realistic and sustainable financial framework. Once the SIDP has been developed, universities will on a yearly basis prepare Annual Progress Reports (APRs) that will take stock of progress towards the achievement of the SIDP targets, and suggest remedial measures where needed.
A two day workshop has been designed for Kabul Education, Kabul Medical and Kabul University to draft the strategic institutional development plans for their relevant universities. The workshop will begin on Sunday April 17 and end Monday April 18. The two full day workshop will focus on National Higher Education Strategic Plan, stages of SIDP, components of SIDP, Implementation of SIDP and Monitoring and Evaluation of SIDP.
